BACK TO SCHOOL INFORMATION

  • DROP-OFFS/PICK-UPS - Parents are strongly encouraged to use the Tom-Lin entrance to drop off their children. Please use the sidewalk located immediately to the right (east sidewalk) upon entering the parking lot to drop off children. The sidewalk closest to the building (north sidewalk) is reserved for bus and van drop off.
  • CHROMEBOOKS: 
  • Students are to bring their Chromebooks to and from school every day.
  • Chargers should remain at home. Please do not have your child bring his/her charger into school.
  • Please be sure your child carries his/her Chromebook in the assigned bag. Please do not place Chromebooks into backpacks as this may incur damage to the device.
  • Please be sure your child has his/her Chromebook fully charged each morning.
  • SAVE THE DATE - MKMS OPEN HOUSE - will be held on Thursday, September 11th. More information will be coming soon!

ARRIVAL/DISMISSAL PROCEDURES

Arrival: Parents are strongly encouraged to use the Tom-Lin entrance to drop off their children. Please use the sidewalk located immediately to the right (east sidewalk) upon entering the parking lot to drop off children. The sidewalk closest to the building (north sidewalk) is reserved for bus and van drop off. It is important to note that students should not be dropped off prior to 7:45 am. Staff will be on duty to assist students at 7:45 am. Staff will not be on duty prior to 7:45 am.

Dismissal: We will have staggered dismissals. We ask for your patience, especially during the first few days back, to ensure our students are able to safely exit the building.
 

MAIN OFFICE/VISITOR PROCEDURES

Visitors: All visitors are required to use our our service window to take care of a good deal of school business items (dropping of and picking up forms, lunches, dismissals, etc.) We are also asking you please limit early dismissals or late arrivals for essential reasons only. Due to our own dismissal procedures, we are unable to dismiss your child between 2:30 and 2:55. Please pick up your child prior to 2:30 if they have an afternoon appointment. For early dismissal, please email mkoffice@npsct.org or call (860) 666-5418, prior to picking up your child(ren).

Any visitors that need to enter our building will be required to provide identification, undergo background check through our visitor management system, and wear a visitor's badge during their visit. Thank you in advance for your cooperation with our security protocols.
 

IMPORTANT FOOD SERVICES INFORMATION

Breakfast and lunch prices will be changing for the 2025-2026 school year.  Please see the new prices below:

Breakfast:
$2.00 for all schools
Free for approved free & reduced students

Lunch:
Elementary - $3.25 - full pay students
            $0.40 - approved reduced students
            Free - approved free students

Middle & High - $3.75 - full pay students
              $0.40 - approved reduced students
              Free - approved free students
 

ATTENDANCE

When your student(s) are absent from school, ParentSquare will send you a notification in regards to the absence. Parents and Guardians who receive Attendance Notices on their app or the ParentSquare website and can then submit notes back to the school. Click “Send Note to School,” enter the reason for the absence and click “Submit.” You only have the ability to submit a note AFTER your student has been marked absent. You have 10 days to submit the note through www.parentsquare.com or through the app. PLEASE DO NOT SEND A MESSAGE TO YOUR STUDENT'S TEACHERS. 

If you need to contact our school office for any reason, other than attendance, please contact us at mkoffice@npsct.org or call 860-666-5418. Please use ParentSquare to report absences and/or tardies ONLY.
 

PARENTSQUARE

Newington Public Schools uses ParentSquare for district and school communication, primarily with email, text and app notifications. ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent, using their preferred email address and phone number on file with your student’s school. We encourage parents to access their accounts so they can download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified.
Here’s what you can do with ParentSquare:
  • Receive messages from the school via email, text or app notification
  • Choose to receive information as it comes or all at once daily
  • Communicate in your preferred language
  • Comment on school postings to engage in your school community
  • Direct message teachers and staff
  • Participate in group messages
  • Sign up for parent-teacher conferences

NEWINGTON SEPTO WRESTLING FUNDRAISER

Wrestling with Character LIVE is an interactive entertainment experience with something for everyone! Family and friends will be entertained with action packed, high flying professional wrestling combined with sketch comedy, singing and dancing, sound and visual effects and audience participation the likes of which have never been seen before in Sports Entertainment and Professional Wrestling. 

Audiences will be part of an interactive environment where they can cheer on favorites like ‘Swish’ Marbury accompanied by mascot Dunks, dance along with Shockwave the Robot, jeer the sinister Professor U. Spite, come face to face with the Middle Earth’s RATROM and have to be on the lookout the dastardly Bully and resident SuperHero - ThunderOus SuperKidd!

Audiences will be captivated by larger than life, relatable characters who engage in storytelling that will remind long-time fans of why they fell in love with professional wrestling. Friends and family who are entertained by sketch comedy, theatrics and special effects and theatrics will be laughing and participating in the live performance!

WWC LIVE partners with community organizations to assist in fundraising for school, youth leagues and non-profit organizations. Bring family friendly entertainment to your private birthday, campground, corporate event of any size specific to your event. Add an unique family oriented attraction to your community fair or carnival. 
Wrestling with Character LIVE is more than wrestling, it is an engaging and interactive entertainment experience like no other!
