🤝 Partnering for Student Success: Progress Conferences

At MKMS we believe that student success is a team effort. We love seeing our students take ownership of their learning, and one of the best ways to support that growth is through our upcoming Progress Conferences.
This is a wonderful opportunity for us to connect, celebrate your child’s achievements, and collaborate on goals for the remainder of the semester.
Mark Your Calendars:
  • Keep an Eye on Your Inbox: Staff will be sending out conference invitations via email on Friday, March 13, by 9:00 a.m.
  • Sign-Up Info: Please check your email at that time for specific links or instructions to reserve your time slot.
We truly value your partnership and look forward to discussing how we can continue to support your student together. If you have any questions before the invites go out, please reach out to the main office at (860) 666-5418 ext. 2302.

Great Work!

8th grader Jayden LaBranche has earned a score of 1200+ on all strands of his IXL! This is the highest score possible on our current benchmark test. Throughout the year, Jayden has taken it upon himself to learn new math skills on IXL and is learning content normally taught in 12th grade. Jayden has gone above and beyond in his work, and his dedication is showing in his math class as well. Keep up the great work Jayden!

STUDENT ILLNESS REMINDER

Dear Families,

As we move through the school year, we kindly remind everyone of our health and safety guidelines regarding student illness and injuries. Please review the following return-to-school policies:

  •  Illness Guidelines: Fever: Students may return when their temperature is below 100.0°F for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication (e.g., Tylenol, ibuprofen).
  • Vomiting: Students may return 24 hours after vomiting has stopped, as long as they are able to tolerate a regular diet.
  • Diarrhea: Students may return 24 hours after the last loose bowel movement, provided they are eating normally.

Thank you,
Sue Lewis RN

Start the Day Strong with School Breakfast

Dear Families,
Did you know that a healthy breakfast can help students focus, learn, and feel their best all day long?
We’re excited to remind you that school breakfast is available every school day, Monday–Friday, when
school is in session!
Breakfast is served in the cafeteria before the school day begins and offers students a convenient, nutritious
way to start their morning with friends.

Middle School: 7:40 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.
Elementary School: 8:35 a.m. – 8:50 a.m.
Elementary students eat breakfast in their classrooms.

Delayed Openings
Breakfast is served at the High School and John Wallace on delayed opening days.
Martin Kellogg and Elementary schools do not serve breakfast on delayed opening days.

students to take advantage of this opportunity to start their day nourished and ready to learn!
