The Martin Kellogg Parent Teacher Organization’s (PTO) main objective is to raise funds to support our school and student’s needs that may not be met by the Board of Education Budget. The PTO partners with the school faculty and administration and plays a vital role in supporting and enriching our children's educational experience by funding Curriculum Enrichment programs, field trips, providing scholarships and more. Membership is FREE! It will give you a voice and a vote at meetings where important issues that are pertinent to all of our children are discussed.

The following are examples of programs that the PTO has been able to fund every year with your support. We hope to continue to assist with these and other worthwhile programs:

  • Academic Enrichment Programs

  • Community Building Day

  • Fuel Up To Play 60

  • Book Fairs, where we were able to donate $1000’s worth of books to our teachers and the media center

  • Ice Cream Socials

  • Staff Appreciation Day

  • Purchase of toys for 5th grade recess

  • 5th grade Photography Program

  • 6th grade Battle of the Books

  • 7th grade field trips

  • Scholarships for the 8th Grade DC Trip

  • 8th grade yearbook

  • End of the year 8th grade awards

  • Author visits (Such as Neal Shusterman)

  • and much more!

PTO Meetings

PTO Meetings are a great way to stay informed as to what is going on at MKMS as well as helping you and your children feel connected and engaged at the school.

Fundraisers

Our fundraisers include Savearound Coupon Books in September, Lyman Orchard Pies & Cookie Dough in October, a mixed bag in early spring, semi-annual Scholastic Book Fairs and year-long fundraising through BOXTOPs and store loyalty cards! BoxTops can be handed into students’ homeroom teachers. BoxTops continues to be a HUGE fundraiser for our school. Through stores such as Stop & Shop, Price Chopper, and Target, we have received an additional $1,000 or more per year just by registering your cards. Help us earn money for the school with easy fundraisers!

You can support the PTO and their objectives by registering your store loyalty cards and clipping Box Tops. Every little bit counts!

BOX TOPS: By clipping Box Tops and sending them to school labeled with your child and homeroom teacher. In the past, the PTO received checks for over $1,000.00!!!

Stop & Shop A+ School Rewards: MKMS earns points that become CASH for our school! This program is separate from the gas reward points. The school is already registered, but Stop and Shop reward card users can register in-store or on the Stop & Shop website. The MKMS school ID is 08745, confirm that you want the points to go to Martin Kellogg Middle School.

Target’s RED Card Take Charge of Education: Target's RED Card Take Charge of Education also earns CASH for MKMS! This program works for both Debit and Credit Target Cards! The MKMS school ID for Target is 38986. Enroll online with your RED Card information through the Target RED Card website.

Please email us at martinkelloggpto@gmail.com with any questions.

We look forward to seeing you at the meetings and thank you for your continued support of the MKMS PTO!
